Clean Communities

Ripley Valley Clean Energy Planning

The project leaders for the Ripley Valley Development have approached the Office of Clean Energy seeking advice and input at the planning stage to create an iconic, sustainable development which reflects world best practice in design, development, construction and maintenance. The Ripley Valley Development represents an unprecedented opportunity to guide planning on a green field development site from the ground up.

A workshop comprising key renewable energy industry, academics, government officers, service providers, and energy service providers was held on Friday 6 March 2009.

The key objective of the Ripley Valley Clean Energy workshop was to generate a range of both immediate and longer term strategies spanning demand side innovation, energy efficiency and distributed onsite renewable generation informed by evidence, expert opinion and international best practice.

The Ripley Valley Clean Energy workshop represents the first stage in developing a robust methodology for clean energy planning with large energy demand users such as master planned communities, manufacturing, and mining and primary industries.

Presentations and other documentation relating to the Ripley Valley Development are available for download.
